Rules

The rules of soccer can be very different from any other sport that you might have played before. I will be going over 3 of the most common rules of soccer. However if you would like a more in depth rulebook, click here.

Number 1: No hands please. I bet you already knew that one though. The technical term for this rule is a "handball", which includes using anywhere from your fingertips to your shoulders. The only player allowed to handle the ball is the goalie.

Number 2: Throw-ins. I know I just said don't pick up the ball, but this is the only exception. The two rules for throw-ins are keep both feet on the ground and to throw the ball with two hands over your head.

Number 3: Offsides. In my opinion, this is the most confusing rule in soccer. The definition of offsides is when you are passed the ball, you must be in front of the last defender, minus the goalkeeper. This means that you can't wait for the ball behind the defense.
